Titans Community Foundation

The Titans Community Foundation is a charitable organisation which enhances the lives of young people through relevant education, health and sports programmes.

HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES

Reading Partners: The players read every Monday and Tuesday afternoons in local schools. In the last five years they have encouraged more that four thousand children to become better readers. The National Literacy Trust has recognised the Titans as Reading Champions. This work is kindly sponsored by Help a Hallam Child and the Rotherham Advertiser.

Rugby Coaching: Titans players and coaches have worked with more than 7,000 young people in schools, junior clubs and community settings in the last eighteen months. We are looking to maintain a high profile locally as a provider of quality rugby coaching.

Pathways to Success: The Titans continue to host groups of secondary aged students who need additional support as they look forward to the world of work or vocational training. In partnership we deliver a structured programme of practical, sporting and social skills to engage these difficult to reach students.

Playing for Success: In partnership with the Department for Education and Skills and Rotherham M.B.C. the Playing for Success Scheme is delivering quality after school learning experiences to 120 ten to thirteen year olds in our purpose built education facility.

Healthy Lifestyles: Funding from the Valley Healthy Living Alliance has allowed us to deliver both practical and classroom based lessons to encourage young people to be more physically active and to eat healthier diets. The players have worked with 1200 children in local schools in the last twelve months.
