Laurence Pearce Injury Update
Rotherham Titans back rower Laurence Pearce picked up a knee injury in last Saturdays 32-24 B&I Cup victory at Bedford and is expected to spend a lengthy period on the sidelines.
Potentially the injury could rule Pearce out of the remaining regular season matches, but should the Titans make the knock out stages, he should be available for selection.
Titans Lee Blackett explained, “Laurence fell awkwardly at Bedford last week and as a result he’s sustained an injury to his knee; unfortunately it’s just one of those things that can happen in a game. As a result he’s likely to be out for between six weeks and three months. I would imagine he’s going to miss the remainder of the regular season; he may be lucky and make it back before, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
“It’s obviously disappointing for him and for us; he’s been a great threat for us this season and particularly so when he’s come off the bench. His impact has been tremendous and now someone else is going to have to do that role. However, the benefit of this squad is that everyone who has come in has done really well when the opportunity has arisen. Our strength in depth is strong and it’s going to have to be as we continue into the business end of the season.”
