A little piece of Titans in Spain

Roberto Maydana, a rugby enthusiast is the bar owner of Temperley Cafe, Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol and his bar is awash with Titans memorabilia.

Roberto took an interest in Titans rugby following a conversation with Rotherham Titans supporter Kevin Brabbs, who was holidaying in Fuengirola four years ago. Kevin gave Roberto a Titans shirt on his next visit and when globetrotting Kevin returned for a third time, Roberto was serving behind his bar with his Titans shirt on.

Since then Roberto has taken out some advertising with the club. His bar, Temperley Cafe, Fuengirola can be seen etched into an upper window in the club’s conservatory.

Recently, Roberto ran a free draw competition at the Temperley Cafe, with the winner receiving two tickets for Titans Championship visit of London Scottish. 

The lucky winners of the match tickets were Adrian Lopez & Carmen Moreno Becerra, both of whom will be present at Clifton Lane on Saturday for Titans final game of the regular season.

Adrian played hooker for Marbella rugby club and currently coaches their under 12’s side. Adrian plans to invite a Rotherham veteran’s side to play the Marbella veterans sometime in the spring of 2013. Rotherham Rugby Club wishes Adrian & Carmen a warm welcome to Clifton Lane and hope they enjoy their Titans match experience.
