Titans aiming for dual success

With the assembly of the squad almost complete and the first pre-season game just around the corner, Titans Rugby are preparing to mount a stern challenge on all playing fronts for the 2012-13 season.

Furthermore, Titans Rugby are extremely pleased with the quality and depth of squad that the Directors and coaching staff has assembled for the rigours of a long hard season ahead.

The aspiration within the club, based on that depth and quality of the squad, is to go very deep into both the league and cup competitions.

Titans Director of Rugby, Martin Jenkinson, is pleased with how the recruitment programme has progressed and believes the Titans are in a much stronger position with this year’s squad, to be able to mount a serious challenge both in the Championship and the British & Irish Cup.

Martin explained, “Fans were unhappy last year about the varying level of performance from the Titans. This was particularly noticeable in the British & Irish Cup games.

“Our squad last year proved we lacked the depth needed to maintain the high standards we desire over a long hard season.

“This year the board and our coaching staff believe we have put this right.

“Any examination of the squad assembled shows that the coaching team have worked hard to recruit a high quality squad with depth in each and every position.

“We are committed to playing winning rugby with our goals being at least a top 4 finish in stage 1 of the Championship and to compete in the final stages of the B & I Cup.

“Our fans can be assured that our aim is to be successful in both competitions, be it league or cup and to provide the entertainment we all want to see.”
