New addition to the Titans Medical Department
Titans Rugby are pleased to announce the addition of Kirsty Stephenson to the Clubs Medical Department. Kirsty will work under the Clubs Sports Rehabilitation Specialist, Lindsay Whitaker, on a part time volunteer basis.
Twenty three years old Kirsty graduated from Teesside University this summer with a Masters in Sports Therapy, after completing an applied Sports Science Under-Graduate Degree, 2 years previously.
Kirsty worked with Darlington Mowden Park R.F.C. last season, where she completed 250 hours placement with them and then continued on a volunteer basis until the end of the season. Whilst at Darlington she worked closely with their Head Physio assisting in various day to day duties.
Titans Sports Rehabilitation Specialist, Lindsay Whitaker is delighted to welcome Kirsty on board and explained, “This is the career path she has chosen and this role at the Titans will give her a lot more practical experience of working in a professional rugby environment. She’s been a fantastic addition to the club, she’s settled in really well and all the players have responded well to her being there and in turn she has built a good rapport with everybody.”
Lindsay continued, “Kirsty will be here for the Monday and Tuesday training sessions and she’ll also be at Clifton Lane on match days. In addition to the general day to day therapy roles, she will be assisting and helping out with various treatments and rehab with the players, including sports massage & taping. Furthermore, she’ll have a number of players in her care, all of which will be a massive help to the department.”
