Kilbane makes 100th appearance against Pirates
Rotherham Titans loose head prop Jamie Kilbane will make his 100th league appearance for the club tomorrow when he lines up to face Cornish Pirates; kick-off at Clifton Lane is 5:15pm.
Kilbane made his Titans debut in November 2005 in a 29-13 victory over Moseley at Billesley Common, in the 4th round of the Powergen Cup. His league debut came in February 2006 in a narrow 23-29 home defeat to Exeter Chiefs in the old National Division One.
Kilbane has made a further 15 appearances for the club in various cup competitions, but the likeable Irishman is still waiting for his first Titans try, although Jamie has previously stated, his job is not to score tries but to make them for other people!
Commenting on Jamie’s achievement Titans Head Coach Alex Codling said, “Jamie has been a fantastic servant to the club for many years, both on and off the pitch. To reach this milestone in the modern game is quite some achievement. Jamie’s a true clubman and one of the most likeable guys you are likely to meet. In recognition of this important landmark Jamie will lead the side out against Pirates tomorrow.”
Joining the 100 ‘cap’ club for the Titans tomorrow will take Jamie up to joint 15th in the all time league appearances for the club and puts him in the company of true Titans legends Simon Bunting and John Dudley amongst others.
Rotherham Rugby Club would also like to go on record in congratulating Jamie on his remarkable achievement.
