Former Titan Sets New Premiership Record: David Strettle

Former Titan Sets New Premiership Record

Former Rotherham Titans winger David Strettle has set a new Premiership Record; by scoring the fastest hat-trick in Premiership history, from the start of a match.

The flying finisher set the mark on Sunday for his club Saracens in their Aviva Premiership victory over Worcester Warriors at Allianz Park. Strettle’s trio of tries remarkably came inside the first 22 minutes of his sides 47-17 demolition of Warriors.

The previous record was one minute longer and held by London Irish's Richard Kirke, who scored his treble against West Hartlepool in 1999.

The new top four is:

22 mins David Strettle (Saracens v Worcester, 14 Apr 13)
23 mins Richard Kirke (Irish v West Hartlepool, 16 Jan 99)
31 mins Fraser Waters (Wasps at Sale, 10 Oct 03)
33 mins Tom Varndell (Leicester v Wasps, 22 Apr 06)
