Jazz nights are coming to the Home of Rugby!
Rotherham Rugby Club are delighted and excited to announce that starting in May, the club will be hosting regular Jazz evenings from the renowned Dave Brennan Jazzband.
Over the years the Dave Brennan Jazzband has become an institution. The core of the band has been together since 1961 under Dave’s leadership and has appeared many times in Belgium, Holland, France & Germany, including 2 weeks in Munich for the 1972 Olympic Games. The two USSR tours in the 1990’s took in the major cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as cities such as Ekaterinburg in Siberia.
Dave’s involvement in jazz is wider, leading various New Orleans Parade Bands, notably the ‘Jubilee’ & ‘Heritage’. He has recorded regularly with other bands & has had his own personal discography published in Holland. For 17 years he was a member of the Chris Blount Band, with which he recorded & toured extensively.
Dave, with his highly regarded and multi-talented band will be performing live at Clifton Lane on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of every month, beginning 15th May 2013.
Doors will be open from 7pm with the show running from 8pm-10:30pm with a short break. Admission on the door is just £2.
So, every one involved with the club is urged to come along with their friends to enjoy a truly memorable evening of Jazz performed by the legendary Dave Brennan Jazzband, at the Home of Rugby in Rotherham.
