Family fun day with the Titans this Saturday

Rotherham Titans are hosting a special family fun-day event at Clifton Lane this Saturday 29th June and all our supporters are welcome to attend with their family and friends.

As part of the special event, supporters will have the exciting and unique opportunity to take on the Titans in a game of touch rugby!!!

The day will start at 9am with an open training session for the Titans on Herringthorpe, led by Head Coach Lee Blackett. At 10am the session will finish and the unique and exciting opportunity for supporters to play against the Titans will commence.

Any supporters who wish to take part in the touch rugby match against the Titans should arrive at Herringthorpe no later than 9:45am. Lee Blackett will arrange the teams with players and supporters, with other players refereeing the match or matches (depending on number of supporter’s whishing to take part). Supporters from aged 7 to 70 are welcome to take part and Lee will arranged the games accordingly; the footwear recommended for participants is trainers.

Following this great opportunity for fans, at around 10:30am the playing squad will adjourn back into the clubhouse to watch, with supporters, the crucial 2nd Test match between the British & Irish Lions v Australia. During the half time break there will be a short Q&A session, where Head Coach Lee Blackett and Forwards Coach Ed Williamson will field questions from supporters.

On Clifton Lane there will be a bouncy castle, giant slide and face painting opportunities for the children and subject to the weather, there will also be a barbecue. Food will also be available from the bar, including full English breakfast’s.

Commenting on the event Titans Lee Blackett said, “The day should be very special, I hope the supporters and their families come along in numbers and take part in the rugby and get to know the players. This is Rotherham Rugby Club, we are one big family here and I want the players and supporters to have a great rapport as I believe that’s how it should be.”

Additionally, to mark the occasion; the Championship’s new league sponsor Greene King IPA will be launching a new ale especially for the Titans. As part of the new deal, Greene King IPA and Rotherham Titans are aiming to develop their relationship further and the fantastic new ‘Titans Bitter’ will be available to try out on Saturday.
