Jazz nights are back at the Home of Rugby!

Rotherham Rugby Club are delighted to announce that the talented and popular Dave Brennan Jazzband are returning to the Home of Rugby.

Come and enjoy a toe-tapping evening in the traditional New Orleans style at your Rugby Club. The renowned Dave Brennan Jazzband will be performing from 8pm to 10.30pm tomorrow evening (Wednesday 3 July).

Over the years the Dave Brennan Jazzband has become an institution. The core of the band has been together since 1961 under Dave’s leadership and has appeared many times in Belgium, Holland, France & Germany, including 2 weeks in Munich for the 1972 Olympic Games. The two USSR tours in the 1990’s took in the major cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg as well as cities such as Ekaterinburg in Siberia.

Dave’s involvement in jazz is wider, leading various New Orleans Parade Bands, notably the ‘Jubilee’ & ‘Heritage’. He has recorded regularly with other bands & has had his own personal discography published in Holland. For 17 years he was a member of the Chris Blount Band, with which he recorded & toured extensively.

So, everyone involved with the club are encouraged to come along with their friends to enjoy a truly memorable evening of Jazz.
