Titans add to coaching team
Rotherham Titans are delighted to announce that scrum coach Micky Ward has been added to the coaching set-up at Clifton Lane.
Micky will join the Titans one day a week to give the front row specialised coaching as the Titans aim to have angles covered for the Championship campaign ahead.
Ward, a former tight head prop with Newcastle Falcons, will continue to spend one day a week coaching the front three at Kingston Park, but he will be with the Titans on Monday to take his first session.
Titans Head Coach Lee Blackett is delighted that Ward has agreed to come on board and explained, “It’s a tradition that this club prides itself on scrimmaging and even though I am a back, I understand how important the pack is.
“Micky will do individual work with players and specialise on technical stuff, he’ll also review what we’ve done, preview the oppositions scrum when the season gets under way and do plenty of live scrimmaging work.
“Speaking with the boys, they can’t wait to work with him and I’m sure he’ll bring on our younger players like Toby Williams, who can go on to be a massive X-Factor player for us.
“We’ve also got Neil Briggs working with us on the hooker position which is bringing even more Premiership knowledge to what we are doing. Having guys like Neil and Micky on board is a massive plus for us.”
