Titans ready for cricket challenge

Rotherham Titans are ready for their cricket challenge at Clifton Lane on Sunday in the Rotherham Hospice T20 Cup and they want as many supporters there as possible to cheer them on in search of glory.

Titans cricketing under-fire Skipper, Alex Rieder, commenting on the event said, “There’s been a lot of talk and speculation surrounding the event in terms of who will lead the side on Sunday. I can confirm I will be leading the boys into battle at the weekend.

“Preparations have gone well and I am looking for the boys to give a good account of themselves. The Rotherham Hospice is a great cause locally and I hope we can help to raise a lot of money on the day. I hope as many Titans supporters can be there and help support the boys as they go up against some of the town’s best cricketers.”

The charity event promises to be a fun-filled family occasion and will include teams from Rotherham Titans, Rotherham Town Cricket Club and an “all star” team fielded by John Breckin; featuring local names such as Howard Webb, Ronnie Moore, Johnnie Nelson and many more.

The event which is being sponsored by Merryweathers and Eric Twigg Foods will be a fun day for all the family with stalls, games, face painting, bouncy castle and more.

The day will start at 11am and end at around 7pm; admission is free and all are welcome to come along.

The clubhouse and bar will be open from 10am; so make a date in your diary to bring the family along for a fun-filled day and cheer the Titans on as they aim to win a trophy before the season has even started and also help one of Rotherham’s most worthwhile good causes.
