Supporters Night a great success!!!

Yesterday evenings Supporters Night proved a resounding success as Titans Head Coach Lee Blackett and his back-room staff fielded questions from a bustling clubhouse at Clifton Lane.

Supporters in attendance also took the opportunity to join the Supporters Club (£5 annual membership) and order their double-header tickets for the Titans opening game of the season against Moseley at Castle Park, Doncaster.

Please continue to order your double-header tickets from Rotherham Rugby Club, as purchasing them from Doncaster means the Titans lose out on vital revenues. For example, on a £5 concession ticket bought from Doncaster, Rotherham Rugby Club would receive just 62 pence!!!

Last Night

Lee and his team fielded questions from the floor for around an hour and he plans to repeat the experience in the near future. Lee views the interaction of players and supporters as a crucial part of a successful rugby club and intends to make the players more accessible moving forward (watch this space for details).

Lee explained to a busy clubhouse how he’d not just recruited a group of talented rugby players, but he’d done his background checks to make sure the club recruited the “right” people with the “right attitude” and any player’s not putting in the necessary hard work or showing enough heart for the task ahead; they would find it very difficult to find a spot in the team.

Lee told how he would not be making any predictions of where the club would finish in the league, but did add that the current crop of Titans would be the fittest set of players ever at Clifton Lane!

He went on to explain that his philosophy on the game would be demonstrated by an exciting brand of rugby and he specifically spoke of how he wants to see the ball moved very quickly away from the breakdown area and a fast tempo set within games.

The British & Irish Cup competition will see the Titans strive to progress from their group assured Lee, who stated that every game has an equal importance for the team. He added that there would be only two or three changes made to the team for B&I Cup matches, as he felt making wholesale changes devalued the competition and was grossly unfair on the players coming into the team.

Lee will be leading the way again next Tuesday at Clifton Lane as his Titans XI cricket side take on a Supporters XI. The match will start at 5:30pm and afterwards in the bar Lee will announce his squad Captain and Vice Captain.

There will also be another opportunity to join the Supporters Club and to order your double-header tickets for the Titans first game of the season.

To order your double-header tickets now, just print off the application form below and send in to the club (Tony Jenkinson, Rotherham Titans, Clifton Lane, Rotherham, S60 2SN) with your cheque made payable to RRUFC 2004 Limited.

The club would like to thank all its supporters who have already placed their orders for double-header tickets.
