Titans send four out on loan

Rotherham Titans have sent four players out on short-term loan ahead of the new Greene King IPA Championship season, which kicks-off a week on Saturday, when the Titans take on Moseley at Castle Park in the double header weekend.

Toby Williams, Max Argyle and Toby Freeman will spend some time at Hull Ionians, whilst prop forward Rikki Stout will join up with Hull RUFC.

Titans head coach Lee Blackett, commenting on the news explained, “Going out on loan does not mean an end to your time at Clifton Lane, it is in fact an opportunity to try and force your way back into the first team here. Last season we saw what a positive effect going out on loan had on Laurence Pearce, Mike Doneghan and Ed Styles and hopefully we will see the same thing happen again this time around.

“The players going out will still train here with us, as well as spending some time with the other club and we will be monitoring everyone very closely. We all know the Championship is a long season and everyone will have their opportunity at some point to stake their claim. We wanted competition for places and that’s what we’ve got and I’m happy to have the headaches and sleepless nights going into the start of the new season.”
